"Pears the game of pairs"

 Object of the game:

Collect the most points after three rounds of play by creating three sets of pairs matching either the same number with different color cards or matching the same number with the same color cards. 

The dealer.

The dealer shuffles the red deck and the blue deck separately at the start of each round of play.  No need to wear a dealer's visor unless you really  want to. 

The banker.

You control the distribution of chips at the beginning of the game and pay players one chip for each point they earned at the end of every round. Don't let this job go to your head.

Play

the dealer & banker working together.

The dealer deals each player  three red cards and three blue cards.  The banker gives each player one chip.

Draw and discard piles setup.

If a draw pile becomes depleted during play, then the discard pile is turned over without being shuffled and becomes the draw pile.


If a discard pile becomes empty any time during play, turn over the next card in the draw pile.  

Start the game.

Players hold the six cards in their hand so the other players cannot see them.  The player on the left of the dealer starts the round and play rotates clockwise.  On their turn, the player rolls the die which indicates the color deck to draw a card from. 

If you Roll a red pear.

Pick the top card from either the red draw pile or  the red discard pile.  After drawing a card, the player must discard one of their cards, either a red card or a blue card and place it in the appropriate color discard pile. Their turn is now over, and the next player goes. 


If you roll a blue pear.

Pick the top card from either  the blue draw pile or the blue discard pile.  After drawing a card, the player must discard one of their cards, either a red card or a blue card and place it in the appropriate color discard pile. Their turn is now over, and the next player goes.

Pick a card from either the red or  blue piles.  After drawing a card, the player must discard one of their cards, either a red card or a blue card and place it in the appropriate color discard pile. Their turn is now over, and the next player goes. 


THE ROLLOVER.

 If you didn't get the color you wanted on your roll? Pay the banker one chip and roll again before picking up a card. You can do this only one time per turn.  After drawing a card, the player must discard one of their cards, either a red card or a blue card and place it in the appropriate color discard pile. Their turn is now over, and the next player goes.

When a players gets three sets of any type of pairs, they can choose to end the round or continue to play for the most possible points.

When a player gets three pairs and wishes to end the round of play on their turn, they place the discarded card on the discard pile face down to indicate the end of the round.

Time to tally up the points.

All players lay their cards face up on the table and add up their points.
